You're Pretty Fantastic

Hi there!

I recently received my October Simon Says Stamp Card Kit that is just full of the beautiful new My Story collection by My Mind's Eye. I also picked up some more of the collection at my LSS, so I couldn't wait to get creating with all of my new goodies.

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch for this card although I decided to just go with the standard card size rather than tall & skinny.

I made it for my best friend who has some really great opportunities opening up for her right now.

I am also linking this up to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

Share Joy Challenge No. 2

Hi there!

Just wanted to share my entry for the Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #2.

This week my card is going to my uncle who will be celebrating his 93rd birthday this Saturday!

I used the Authentique Seaside Collection, along with MFT Fishtail Flags Stax, Pierced Fishtail Flags, Pierced Square Stax, Technique Tuesday All Aboard and MFT LJD Celebrate You stamp sets.

I really love this sentiment - I have been using it a lot in the last week. There are quite a few September birthdays in my family.

I am really loving this challenge! It gives me the push I need to send out cards.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day!

For my last card, I wanted to use my favorite papers, stamps, and dies to create something to express my gratitude to Jen for choosing me to be on her team 120+ sketches ago. It has been fun and challenging. I love how her sketches always stretch me to see things differently and try new things.

Thank you Jen, and all of the members of the Design Team for inspiring me to become a better papercrafter. It has been an awesome ride!

The Deconstructed Sketch No. 196

Hello there!

Welcome to this week's edition of The Deconstructed Sketch!

As usual, Jen has created another super fun sketch for us to play with this week.

For my card this week, I used two of my favorite stamp sets from Avery EllePetals and Stems (and coordinating dies) and So Happy. I stamped the images with Tim Holtz Distress Ink and then went over them with a water brush to give them a softer, watercolor look.

I also used the Chicken Wire Die-namics from MFTStitched Circles die from Simon Says Stamp, all three sizes of Sparkling Clear Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, a Studio Calico wood veneer butterfly, and a bit of crochet trim by May Arts.

The Deconstructed Sketch No. 188

Hello there!

Welcome to this week's edition of The Deconstructed Sketch!

Since it is almost Valentine's Day, I decided to make one more love themed card before I put my Valentine's supplies away.

This one uses Authentique's Crush papers and journaling card. I cut the heart with a Spellbinders Nestabilities die and then heat embossed the "xo" stamp from the Simon Says Stamp Paper Hugs set and layered the Love Script die from Memory Box over top. The fancy angles are made with My Favorite Things Blueprints 18 Die-namics. The wood veneer hearts were colored with the Rose Red Copic marker and coated with Glossy Accents.

The Deconstructed Sketch No. 168

Hello there!

Welcome to this week's edition of The Deconstructed Sketch!

Jen has once again created a super fun sketch for us. This one is so cool, and involves the option for stenciling, embossing paste, or something fun like that!

My card this week is for my best friend's birthday. We are celebrating all week long at the World Famous Pendleton Round-up Rodeo! Yay!

I used some of the awesome goodies from My Favorite Things' birthday-themed July release: LJD Celebrate You stamp set and Die-namics, Balloon Stax Die-namics, and Birthday Chalkboard Greetings stamp set. I used a Teresa Collins stencil and Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste colored with Tim Holtz Distress Inks {Shabby Shutters, Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers} for the background. The little gold accents on the packages are just pieces of the same glitter paper I used for the balloon. I just punched them out with my Crop-a-dile, and glued them on! :)

The Deconstructed Sketch No. 147

Hello there!

Welcome to another awesome edition of The Deconstructed Sketch!

I have been so excited about this sketch for weeks now and I can't wait to give this card to it's recipient!

This card is for my sweet little niece who is turning ten years old this week. She saw this sketch on my desk a couple of weeks ago when she was visiting and thought it was super cool, so I have been thinking about how I could turn it into a birthday card for her. When My Favorite Things released the You're Super stamp set, I knew it was a match made in card making heaven!

Since I am not much of a colorist, my roommate was kind enough to color the image for me... just so you all know that my coloring skills have not vastly improved in the last while! =)

CAS(E) this Sketch #52

well, I have discovered a new challenge blog and thought I would give it a try.

I have been gravitating toward a more clean and simple feel lately, so this is kind of perfect.

This is the sketch for this week:

And here is my interpretation of it:

I pretty much love this and I am sure I will use this sketch again.
I just have to learn how to photograph white cards now. =)

The embossing folder is Anna Griffin by Cuttlebug and the dies are MFT Die-namics
{Fishtail Flags and Happy Hellos}.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day!

The Deconstructed Sketch No. 115

Hello there!

Welcome to this week's edition of The Deconstructed Sketch!

Jen has another fantastic sketch for us this week... so many possibilities!

I decided to try a sort of teen boy birthday card. They are always hard for me to make. I got some new paper at my LSS last week and it is pretty cool. It is by FabScraps... a new-to-me company.

The sentiment stamp is by My Favorite Things... from the DC Gift Card Greetings set.

I really like this sketch and I am excited to use it again. I hope you will be able to play along with us this week.

Here is the list of the other DT members so you can see the awesome ways they have interpreted the sketch!
