Share Joy Challenge No. 4

Hi there!

I had a chance to play along with the  Taylored Expressions Share Joy Challenge #4 this week.

I chose to go with the Clean and Simple part of the challenge.

My card is sort of inspired by this card created by Betsy Veldman for the MFT blog a week or so ago. I love the way she used the brick stencil for the background of her card.

Here is my entry:

I used the Rectangled stencil from Winnie and Walter with Wild Honey Distress Ink. I cut the Glorious Gerber Daisy die by Memory Box  from Bazzill Licorice Twist cardstock. I finished my card off with a sentiment from the Strictly Sentiments 2 set by WPlus9 and some Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.

This card will be sent to one of my aunts that live in another state... just because!

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day!

SSS Monday Challenge: In The Middle

Hello there!

I had some time for creating today so I decided to play along with the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. The theme this week is In The Middle.

I chose to interpret that as a focal point in the middle of my card.

I masked a circle and sponged Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers, and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks and then covered that with the SSS Tiny Dots stencil and Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste. I then added the Darling Poppies die from Memory Box and the SSS Small Hello die cut from black cardstock. A butterfly cut from gold glitter cardstock and vellum using the Memory Box Effera and Rhone Butterfly Wings dies and a few Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Gold sequins finishes things off.

I am also linking this up to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: April Showers/ Spring Flowers.

The Deconstructed Sketch No. 188

Hello there!

Welcome to this week's edition of The Deconstructed Sketch!

Since it is almost Valentine's Day, I decided to make one more love themed card before I put my Valentine's supplies away.

This one uses Authentique's Crush papers and journaling card. I cut the heart with a Spellbinders Nestabilities die and then heat embossed the "xo" stamp from the Simon Says Stamp Paper Hugs set and layered the Love Script die from Memory Box over top. The fancy angles are made with My Favorite Things Blueprints 18 Die-namics. The wood veneer hearts were colored with the Rose Red Copic marker and coated with Glossy Accents.

The Deconstructed Sketch No. 164

Hello there!

Are you ready for this week's edition of The Deconstructed Sketch?

Jen has another fun one for us!

For my card this week, I pulled out my embossing paste again... I am having so much fun playing with it lately! ;)

I used the Memory Box Oh My Stars stencil and then started with my layers. The Avery Elle "happy" die coordinates very nicely with the Handwritten Notes stamp set and provided just the focal point I was looking for!

This card is for my awesome nephew who turned 14 this week. Seems like just yesterday I was holding him in my arms... now he is almost in high school! Yikes!

I apologize for the inferior image quality. I took this picture as I was rushing out the door to his birthday party, and didn't check to make sure if it was good enough.

Here is the list of the other DT members so you can check out their awesome creations as well:

The Deconstructed Sketch No. 163

Hello there!

Welcome to another edition of The Deconstructed Sketch!

Jen has another awesome sketch for us this week -- so full of possibilities! The DT has so many different takes on it. I always love to see how everyone interprets the same sketch. Creativity is so fun!

.......

I sometimes have a little trouble coming up with a color starting point... there are just so many options to choose from, and I don't like to get stuck in a rut, just using my favorite colors over and over again. Well, I came across this website called Design Seeds (that is probably not new to anyone else except me!) :) and it is FULL of wonderful color inspiration!

I chose this as my inspiration piece:

...and came up with this:

I had a lot of fun with my little Cuttlebug and several new and old favorite dies. I also used a Tim Holtz stencil and embossing paste for the background texture.

The Deconstructed Sketch No. 156

Hello there!

Welcome to this week's edition of The Deconstructed Sketch!

Jen has created a super fun sketch with lots of layers for us this week!

I decided to pull out one of my favorite 6x6 paper pads -- Fresh Cut by Basic Grey -- and start there with the inspiration for my card. I just love the colors and patterns in this collection... they make me happy!

The beautiful Lunette Butterfly die is by Memory Box and the sentiment is from the Water Blooms stamp set by Mama Elephant. The fabulous ribbon is by May Arts.

The Deconstructed Sketch No. 154

Hello there!

Are you ready for another fabulous Deconstructed Sketch?

Jen has created another awesome sketch for us to work with this week.

I decided to play with a bit of watercolor, stencils, and embossing paste this week. I also wanted to use a couple of new dies that I recently purchased. My LSS just got in some fabulous new Butterfly Wings dies from Memory Box, so I put to use the Effera and Rhone dies on this card. The hello die is from Simon Says Stamp.
