You Are Awesome... Happy Mail: Day One

This card was made for my sweet little sister as part of my commitment to join the Happy Mail campaign that  Stacy Julian is spearheading. I think it is such a great idea. If you have not heard of it, it is basically a movement to get people to start sending one another hand-written cards and letters again... instead of e-mail, Facebook, Twitter, etc. I know that to receive something special in my mailbox makes my whole day a little brighter, so this campaign is really something I am excited about. The main reason I make cards is to bring joy to others, so now I am committed to actually SENDING them to those I care about.

So, Day One:
A reminder to my baby sister that she is awesome. (She really is.)

This card is based on the Sweet Sunday Sketch No. 166, and uses My Mind's Eye Follow Your Heart papers and chipboard embellishment, PTI Kraft Cardstock, KaiserCraft Pearls, Verve Lean on Me  and  Scroll Plain Jane stamps,  PTI Simply You stamp, Verve Scroll Die, Marvy Uchida Scallop and Circle Punch.

Little Boy Blue

Am I the only person in the world not to have known about these adorable papers from Crate Paper? When we were at the Craft Warehouse last week, my BFF and I found this collection and just had to have them. So adorably vintage cute! There is a collection for the girls also! Just the sweetest thing.

My card today is created using Jen's fabulous sketch (The Deconstructed Sketch No.67). I haven't played along for awhile, but I keep saving the sketches for the day when I have time to create. Today was just such a day! All papers are Crate Paper Little Boy Blue.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day!

Inspired by A Sweethaven Homecoming

Well, here is something different from me: a scrapbook page! Maybe the 5th one I have ever done in my life. But, I just finished  devouring reading the book A Sweethaven Homecoming (the second of the Sweethaven Trilogy) and Courtney Walsh, the author, is having a challenge over on her blog to create a scrapbook page based on the book.
One of the main themes of the books is friendship, so my page is based on my life-long friendship with my best friend in the whole wide world. We have been friends for 25 years now (which just seems crazy to say... I don't feel that old!). I am lucky enough to be her roommate, and we have all sorts of fun adventures together. I am so thankful that God has brought us together to help each other along life's pathway.
Anyway... if you are looking for a good read, with a fun scrapbooking theme, check out A Sweethaven Summer and A Sweethaven Homecoming
