Winnie & Walter October Release Day Four

Premiere of Stampets: Penguin +
Stampets: The Gift +
Stampets: Turkey

Hello there!

Welcome to the final day of sneak peeks for the Winnie and Walter October Release! Today we get to share with you some super fun little sets that focus on animals. These are fun because there are so many ways to customize and accessorize the little critters! :)

Up first is a card I made with the Stampets: Penguin set... he is so fun with his little earmuffs and scarf (and mittens!). I used the Big Bang Circle Creative Screenings with white embossing paste to create the 'snowstorm' the poor little penguin in standing out in.

Next up is a card made with Stampets: The Gift, a sweet little set with cats, dogs, and a teddy bear and lots of fun little extras to go along with them. I love the tiny little tag that comes in the set... it is too cute!

Finally, we have what may be my favorite of the day: Stampets: Turkey. I love the fat little turkey and all of the little extras that come with him... the leaves are especially fun, and I love the sweet little sentiments. For my project, I designed some little treat holders that accommodate a chocolate square (like a Ghirardelli) to make little place cards of sorts for our family Thanksgiving dinner. (I still have a lot more of these to make!)

Well, that's all from me for today! I have had such a great time playing alongside The Talent with Winnie and Walter's latest release. Isn't there just so much good stuff? Tonight is the night that it is available for sale! Yay! Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Winnie & Walter October Release Day Three

Premiere of Happy Christmas +
The Big, the Bold, and the Merry +
Cutaways

Hello there!

Welcome to Day 3 of the Winnie and Walter October Release! I am so super excited to share today's premieres with you! We get to share a brand new product: DIES!!! I seriously squealed with delight when I opened my package! I LOVE dies, and the new Cutaways are AWESOME! They coordinate with The Big and Bold sets. I just want to use them on everything!

But first:
My very favorite stamp set of this release... maybe my favorite stamp set in the history of 2014! Happy Christmas. I am telling you, there is so much packed into this stamp set, it is just the best! For an extra sneak peek of a card using this set, check out my post here

For this project, I started with some shipping tags that I covered with vintage Christmas sheet music. I then sponged on some Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain Distress Inks and then stenciled on some stars using the new Big Bang Classic Star Creative Screenings and Golden Glitz Delicata ink. I stamped some of the tiny images from the Happy Christmas set onto the cardstock before I folded up my rosettes, and used coordinating images for the centers. The sentiments on the fishtail banners are all from the Happy Christmas set as well.

Up next is a set we have all been waiting for: The Big, The Bold and the Merry! I love this one so much too! As you can see, the Classic Star Creative Screenings came out to play again! For this card, I heat embossed the 'merry christmas' in clear and then used some Festive Berries and Fired Brick Distress Inks to create a watercolor effect. I selectively applied embossing paste to the star stencil after all of that was dry.

For my last card, I wanted to try something a little different... I used the Classic Diagonal Creative Screenings, but I rotated it so that my stripes would be horizontal. I sponged my inks onto white cardstock and then applied Golden Glitz Delicata ink over the Persuasion Script Creative Screenings. I used The Big, the Bold and the Happy Cutaways for the bold sentiment, cutting it 3 times out of black cardstock to give extra dimension.

Thank you for joining me today. I hope you are having as much fun as I am looking at all of the awesome projects by the amazing Winnie and Walter Design Team! See you again tomorrow!

The Deconstructed Sketch No. 175

Hello there!

Welcome to this week's edition of The Deconstructed Sketch!

Today's card features some brand new stamps and DIES being released tomorrow by Winnie and Walter! I was the lucky winner of their Playdate No. 3 challenge, so I get to play along with the Design Team as they showcase the latest release! Super exciting!

I love, love, LOVE the stamp set we are focusing on today. To see even more of this set, see my Winnie and Walter post here.

This card uses the brand new Happy Christmas stamp set, The Big, The Bold and the Merry Cutaways (dies), and the Triangles Creative Screenings (stencils).

I am loving this white woodgrain cardstock right now, and gold... can't get enough gold...

Here is the list of the other DT members so you can see how they were inspired by this week's sketch:

Winnie & Walter October Release Day Two

Premiere of Mini Scenery: Into The Woods +
Scenery: Big Bang Flurries +
Winter Woodland

Hello there!

Welcome back as we celebrate Winnie and Walter's October release with another day of awesomeness! Today we are previewing 3 more stamp sets! Hooray! I have to say that all of these are just as amazing as yesterday's sets (and tomorrow's are even better... if that is possible!)

I often like to see if I can take a set and use it in a way other than it's obvious intended purpose. That is kind of what I did with my first 2 cards today.

First up is a card made with the new small set Mini Scenery: Into the Woods. I inked up my stamp with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Stormy Sky then spritzed it with Tattered Angels Pearl Glimmer Mist before pressing it onto watercolor paper. After it was dry, I stamped the deer image from Winter Wonderland on top of it to give the impression of a silhouette. Since I have many cousins who are outdoorsmen, I thought it would be fun to use the sentiment from Winter Woodland and turn this into a birthday card. You can never have enough masculine birthday cards, right?

My second card for today focuses on the new Big Bang Flurries set. There are four different shapes in this set and I love them all, but this fun flower looking shape got me to thinking that maybe I could turn it into a sort of trendy "tween" card. I have a niece that is 12 now, and I had her in mind when I created this card. I think she will like it. This sentiment is also from the Winter Woodland set.

And now here we are, with a Christmas card, to celebrate Winter Woodland. This is a great set with so many fun images and sentiments. I can't wait to pull it out again and play with it some more. I really love this beautiful, enormous tree! I just stamped in in Versamark and heat embossed it with Zing silver embossing powder. It is so gorgeous! Again, the sentiment is from the Winter Woodland set. It is really a fun and versatile set... great for Christmas, winter, or those often difficult masculine cards!

I hope you have enjoyed a peek at these new sets! There is more goodness tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day!

Winnie & Walter October Release Day One

Premiere of Eat Drink Gingerbread Man +
Mini Scenery: The Peppermint Swirl +
 Creative Screenings

 Hello there!

I am so excited to be a part of the Winnie and Walter October Release! I will be a guest with them all week! For today's projects we are highlighting two stamp sets and a brand-new product called Creative Screenings! The Creative Screenings are stencils and masks… I am so excited about these, they are so cool and super durable! They are some of the nicest stencils I have ever used. I love all of the designs, and you will see them throughout my projects this week. I just couldn't stop using them!

The first stamp set we are highlighting today is called Eat, Drink, Gingerbread Man. It is a small stamp set full of possibility. I used the Creative Screenings to also create the speech bubble for the gingerbread man and the diagonals on the side.

The next stamp set is called Mini Scenery: The Peppermint Zone. I used it to make a wrap for a clear box. I wanted to highlight the look of peppermint candy so I cut out the center of the wrap. I also used just part of the sentiment from the Eat, Drink, Gingerbread Man stamp set.

For my card to highlight the Creative Screenings, I first did a watercolor wash on watercolor paper and after allowing that to dry I inked up the back side of the hello stencil mask from The Big, The Bold and The Happy Creative Screenings with gold Delicata ink, carefully placed it on the cardstock and ran it through my embossing machine to create a faux letterpress technique. It really is super cool.

Well, that's all for today! Tomorrow we will be highlighting 3 more new stamp sets. Hooray!
Hope you all have a wonderful day!
