Lawn Fawn Fun

Hello there!

The new Lawn Fawn release arrived at my LSS yesterday, so I had to rush right over and scoop some up!

There is just so much to love... I am especially enamored with the Stitched Leaves and new Stitched Snowflakes dies.

I also picked up the Snow Day stamp set and coordinating Snow Day 6x6 paper pad along with the Sweater Weather 6x6 paper pad. The sweet little Winter Penguin mini set came home with me as well.

I have two cards to share today, and one that I have to wait to share, because it uses next week's Deconstructed Sketch! :)

For this card, I "scattered" the Stitched Leaves dies on a piece of Papertrey Ink Kraft cardstock, placed them on an embossing pad and then ran them through my Cuttlebug so that I just got a fun impression on the cardstock instead of cutting them out. I then created a mask of each leaf with some painters tape, placed it over the leaves, and sponged Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Aged Mahogany, Spiced Marmalade and Wild Honey. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn's Just my Type stamp set and the sequins are from the LF Hello Sunshine collection.

For this card, I thought it might be fun to try to create a project that used the Snow Day set for something other than a winter-themed card. I paired the bunnies from Snow Day with the heart from Winter Penguin and the sentiment from Woodgrain Backdrops, and added just a couple of strips of paper from the Snow Day 6x6 pad. I used Tim Holtz Distress Markers to color in the bunnies and a bit of Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam for the heart.

I can't wait to show you my other card next Thursday, using the Sweater Weather papers and the Stitched Leaves dies again (but in a different way)!

Have a fantastic day!

Thanks for stopping by!

The Deconstructed Sketch No. 166

Hello there!

Welcome to this week's edition of The Deconstructed Sketch!

As always, Jen has created an awesome sketch for us to work with!

This card is for my younger sister whose birthday is coming up this Sunday... and then September is full of birthdays in my family... I think there is one every week!

I used the Brushed stamp set by Avery Elle. I first stamped the sentiment in Hero Arts Black dye ink on watercolor paper, then inked up the brush stroke stamps in Tim Holtz Distress Inks {Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers} and spritzed them with water before pressing them onto the paper. I then took my black watercolor pencil and wet the tip with my water brush and flicked it over the top for the speckled look.

The striped paper is from the MME Record It! Charmed 6x6 paper pad. I used Papertrey Ink Raspberry Fizz and Tropical Teal cardstock and some random sequins to finish it off!

Here is the list of the other DT members so you can see how they were inspired by this week's sketch:

I hope you are inspired to give this fabulous sketch a try. If you want to play along with us at The Deconstructed Sketch this week, the linky tool and details are over on Jen's blog!

I am also playing along with the AE I ♥U Challenge this week, which is to use sequins on your project!

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day!

Chevron Hello

Hello!

I am lucky enough to have another chance to play in my craft room today, and as I was working on my card to-do list, and getting only slightly distracted... =) I came across this fun challenge on the Winnie + Walter Blog, and thought I would play along to get my mojo going today!

The challenge is to create a card in 10 minutes, use at least one product from Simon Says Stamp, and one from Winnie & Walter...

Well, I downloaded some cut files from W&W, set my timer, and started creating!

I would have made it in time, I think, but I changed my mind at the last minute and switched out the die for the SSS small hello die and cut it out of Papertrey Ink Raspberry Fizz cardstock 3 times to make it stand out.

The Winnie and Walter Chevrons are cut from Bazzil Black cardstock and layered over Neenah Solar White cardstock, the gold sequins are by Teresa Collins.

Anyway, it was super fun to challenge myself to try to make a card in only 10 minutes because it usually takes me at least a couple of hours. =)

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day!

A Golden Happy

Hello there!

Today I felt the need to just create something fun... no pressure! I have a list of cards I "need" to make. You know: birthdays, thank yous, etc... but I just wasn't feeling any of them. So this card is just for fun: to get my mojo flowing!

I started with the inspiration photo from Papertrey Ink's August 2014 Blog Hop, combined it with the most recent CAS(E) this Sketch challenge, and will also link it up to the Pretty Pink Posh Cutting Edge Blog Hop!

I used the 5/8" circle punch by EK Success to make the circles from gold glitter paper, and used Papertrey Ink's One Liners: Happy die and modified it a bit for the sentiment and strip underneath. :) The beautiful pink paper is PTI's Raspberry Fizz cardstock. I used a bit of foam adhesive to raise up the four dots in the middle for a bit of added interest.

To find out more about any of the challenges or hops that inspired my card, just click on the graphics!

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your day!
